A Glimpse of the Pond

My wife and I have often passed a
lovely spot along the highway near our
home, always wanting to stop to get a
closer view, but never bothering
because we seemed always on our
way elsewhere. I'm sure everybody has
such places nearby and overlooked for
some reason or another. One day in
the fall, however, we forced ourselves
to find a place to pull over, got out of
our car, and took some pictures.
These later became sources for a
number of little studies of autumn trees
and water. This little oil painting is one
of them.
